  1. My dear FB pal Julie just said that she had been listening to me on the radio for years. Interesting. Me too. However I thought it was just in my head.

  2. I mean for years many many years I went into this dark studio, and just spoke...there was a mic...I think....I dunno. Anyway for years I spoke or maybe the words were just in my head.

  3. Then these assholes came, and threw me, and my friends out. Some went to other dark rooms to speak.

  4. I just went home.

  5. ...though lately I've been speaking again or hearing that voice. ...though this time the room isn't as dark, and there seems to be this talking rabbit with me all the time.

  6. i listened to you for twenty years or more, how long did you do the program? which was amazing

Sidney Smith I did several programs of different titles from 1978 to 2013. From when I was aged 28 to 63...??!!!...odd that.
  7. However it did past the time, and there were some joys, and laughs along the way. Several heaping tons of damp shit too, but you get that anyway.
  8. Thank you sincerely. You all of you for being there with me.

Sidney Smith Btw if you look at the photo below. The tech is so cool now that you can fit an actual digital radio station on a bleeping Chair! Wow!.

Sad that you don't have your friends with you in this studio, but it does look so lovely...beautiful colors of the wood!

I don't know how many years I listened to you for...probably not 20, because I didn't listen to WBAI much for a while...some Fred Hershkowitz, Amy Goodman, Gary Null....When I discovered you at 3 in the morning...or was it 12-3?... I was so thrilled !!!
  9. ...and of course was hooked!.....
  10. Best shows since the ones I listened to after midnight in the early 60's! I'm sure I mentioned this before...But I don't know whose shows they were..someone played Gene Shepard, the Goon Shows, and 3 different versions of various songs!
  11. It should come as no surprise that I love: "Rats in my Room" .... Thank you again, Uncle Sidney for bringing me so much joy!

More people were killed in the Bowling Green Massacre than were killed in the French Revolution. Period

Btw Pamela as I read your post again I'm so moved. Yours in the only actual written down "thank you" for my 32 years at the front I've ever got. Thank you it means a lot. !

Sidney, Pacifica was a gift and you were a giver. In return, you should be given some special recognition, an award of some kind. .

Sidney Smith The connections the friendships I made for life were rewards enough. Bless you.
"The Last American in Brooklyn"

Well it sure feels that way sometimes. Mind you I'm all for the Cosmopolitan way. It's just I miss hearing standard English sometimes.

I was walking along in my native town when I realized I hadn't heard my own language in I dunno when. Oh sure any number of dialects from the universe of languages. Just not mine. ...much.
...
I'm not being xenophobic,...I think. I'm just homesick for the United States of America is all. I'm feeling what an expat might sense after a while. That otherness thing. However I'm feeling it perhaps a mile from where I grew up.

I hear that Berlin, Hamburg, London, and a few other Cosmo capitals are much the same. The native cultures have disappeared into the mix.

I suppose this sort of thing explains them New Jersey bigots. Them Nazis that Paki-Bashed or used to till they were eventually out numbered by Pakistan folks, Indians, the Chinese, and Mexicans.

I guess I'm a bigot too.

Only a nicer bigot. I'd never hassle anyone. I like folks. In fact when the upstairs bathroom flooded down into my living room,...swell.

The nice Mexican family from up there came down, and gave me a big bowl of Chicken, and Rice, Yum!, to say they were sorry.

Like Anne Frank said, "...People are Cool.'

Anyway in my apartment building there's a lot of music. Mexican, Haitian, and some stuff I can't figure,...Romanian?

Lately when I'm being bombarded by Mexican rock or Romanian hip hop I blast back with Hendrix, and the Beatles.

Would that 'all' ethnic wars were thus fought.

ONLY GOD IS! Nothing is as it seems to be....I knew you were a GODDER!...Don't forget...moment by moment....it's a moment by moment endless Jihad!...Another brilliant bit by S squared.

Sidney Smith Well I believe, and I don't...that's how I always was. When I sky speaks to me I listen...but too often I forget.

Even Jesus on the cross forgot..I guess Buddha did too...That's why the Saints are not too many...Today the Universe speaks to me...the barren trees look like fine lace work...yesterday I sat in Hell for a bit...fought with another shrink for my daughter's sanity...He apologized to me at the end...Good for him...He can't accept she's off meds for a year and doesn't hear voices...Today GOD IS for me...right now...I go to start a production of Rip Van Winkle....Who knows if at the meeting GOD will be there...or his Brother...Hades...You're in the battle of the Bhagavagita...Me too....Joel Goldsmith tapes on line help...brilliant mystic who grew up in NYC on Riverside...wrote 40 some odd books and 1600 hundred hrs of tapes...ONLY GOD IS...no matter what it looks like or what it appears to be...Really hard to remember...Punching GOD out verbally or physically sometimes seems easier from an Irish warrior clan Father and a Polish Jew mother
"Old New York"

Well for me "Old New York" is the immediate post-war years. I was born in 1950 so remember the city from the early '50's. The town still looked much as it did in the 1930's. It didn't radically change till the 60's, and then again in the 1980's. It's doing it again now.
However I have a romantic memory of how things were then, and I miss it. Not the crap, and awfulness, but the sense of things as they were. ..or at least as I remember them.
...
The city was historically interesting then. We've lost so many of the late 19th, and early 20 century places, and things. Places taken for granted for generations.
For example my Mom, when we went shopping, would take me to lunch at the "Auto-mat",..yeah that one. The for real as in 1920's/30's movies Auto-mat. Many streets were still cobblestone. This from the era of horse drawn wagons, and carriages.

Also people dressed better. There was more of a consciousness of appearance. One that had nothing to do the the fashion dementia of today. It had to do with self respect.
W
ell-to-do middle or working class all dressed as best as they could when they went out. I remember my Dad taking me, and my sister to our neighborhood park. We dressed up! He wore a tie, jacket, and fedora, and we wore clean play clothes. I don't have to tell you what it's like now.

There were no glass, and steel clad skyscrapers. Everything was granite, limestone, and marble. I used to think that the buildings were made from Graham crackers, and cookies. This because in the afternoon sun that's exactly what they looked like.

A whole city made from cookies or biscuits..for you folks in the Commonwealth.
You could tell the cars apart as well. This because each manufacturer had radically different designs. ..at least as compared to today. Our cars are now made of plastic, and look like melted sneakers. They give just as much mileage too.

The subways system still had rolling stock from the late 1920's , and earlier in service. Everything from the "AB Standard" 1914 model to the 1948 Red Bird was banging around our tunnels.
You could stand on the platform, and see the whole history of subway trains fly by! Also while standing there you could get a five cent Coke out of them classic neat old machines, and candy was one cent!

Aw man, and comics were a dime.

I remember on one birthday my dad gave me two dollars! ...and 'Ten' comics!
A vast fortune in kid currency!

Best of times the worst,..blah, blah you get the deal. It's just that things seemed to matter more then. As I say I think we were all more connected to our person-hoods back in that day. Stuff mattered, had value all that.

Mind you maybe them that was adults back then might think all this is a load of baloney. Hey I was a kid, and this is what it looked like to me.

Anyway I was just thinking about them times is all.

  1. Slowly very slowly the horror, and shock are subsiding. People are starting to look at this with rational, and planning eyes.

  2. Not many yet, but it's starting.
  3. The 3 million person Women's March was a big part of shaking off the traumatic shock.
  4. ...
  5. Though yes the Democratic leadership is busy securing their position in the permanent government. Never the less elements within that party know what time it is, and is finally trying to make some moves.

  6. The people the folks us slobs just stumbling around are ahead of them as usual in knowing what to do.

  7. Challenge this administration on every bleeping evil thing they do. Every demented edit gets a million folks on their doorsteps. Those numbers translate into votes in the Mid-Terms,..."IF"...if we're smart, and organized.

  8. I just read that this embryonic movement is already ahead of where our opposite numbers were when they started the Tea Party.

  9. At their peak they had at least the sympathy of 39% of registered voters. Our new movement has 60%, and in only two weeks since that man's election. The Tea Party took nearly two years for their peak numbers.

  10. This thing is ours to lose since we clearly have the numbers...mind you we could still be stupid enough to blow this. I just hope not this time.

"Rex sum Victor"

"Rex sum Victor",...."I am a King Victorious"

In thinking about the rise of the "Resident Elect". I wonder if this has happened before. Putting aside all of the fearful ideological, and world political concerns.

Has there even been an obviously disturbed President.

Yes I know a few had depression or were alcoholics. I mean have we 'ever' had a for real emotionally "Disturbed" Commander n Chief?

I must say I don't hate the guy. I'm not even angry with him as a person. "He's not responsible." He is ill, and should be in a wellness community. In pondering this unique situation I was reminded of when I was Caregiver for my Aunt. A stroke had damaged her brain. She recovered from the outward effects of the stroke, but the brain damage sent her into a spiral of dementia.

As I cared for her I had to always remember that she was not responsible for her deteriorating mental condition. I now feel the same about Mr. Trump.

He is not actually our President for medical reasons. The position he now holds is part of his delusion of greatness, and glory. He in his life was just too rich for anyone to either tell him no or have him treated for his condition.

Our problem is with his handlers, and exploiters. These are the real villains of the story. They are the ones making plans who put things in front of this sick man for him to sign. He thinking it will add to his delusional glory.

These next four years,...if it actually lasts that long. Are going to be more that interesting.  Also I fear citizen in the Millions opposing his edits will not be enough. Because of his condition he dismisses events even that historically dramatic as having not happened.

Will the checks, and balances that are supposed to deal with this sort of accident going to finally activate. That or will something more dramatic be necessary to stop the hemorrhaging of what is good about this Republic.

A friend does not believe in the concept of Transsexuality.

Especially when it come to young kids. She felt to force a feminine identity on boys who are really just gay is a crime against them, and an insult to women.

Well I always felt people should just be as they are, and be left in peace.

As for Trans-folks they as I say are who they are. The labels we use today are as inaccurate as the 19th century idea of the "Third Sex". The mysteries of orientation, and identity is only just now being explored. So much we just don't know about how we become who we are. In my opinion we're still lost deep in the Dark Ages of this field of understanding.

Me,...I say, and do the best I know.

As for genders, and orientations I think there are as many as there are people...roughly 7 billion.

As for kids the torment they pretty much 'all' receive from adults is a still unrecognized crime against humanity.

It is not impossible that that putting gender identity labels mistakenly on youngsters may also be a cruelty...we still just don't know.

Like we didn't know medical "Germ Theory" in the 15th century.

Till then the best we can do is be open kind loving, and accepting as much as we personally can.

U.S. President Donald Trump fired the federal government's top lawyer Sally Yates on Monday after she took the extraordinarily rare step of defying the White House and refused to defend new travel restrictions targeting seven Muslim-majority nations.

(Reuters)

From poster...Where was her "integrity" when Obama issued the same order, in 2015?

A consistent habit we have is to judge old sins, and ignore current virtue.

It comes from this nation being originally founded by religious fanatics in early colonial times. Original sin was a big deal with them. This invalidated any good a person might do later.

This prejudice is ingrained in all Americans...all of us.

So much so we don't even realize that's what we're doing. Yes Ms. Yates 'should' have spoken out about earlier offenses, and didn't. However she's doing it now. I do not believe this is hypocrisy rather spiritual Redemption.

We've all been in this,...interesting position I think. I sure as bleep have.

"Life" (...I needed to say this again.)

I am so encouraged by reactions of people around the country, and the world to the "Resident Elects" edicts. The Women's March drew near 3 Million people out into the streets. I don't know the numbers for around the world.

However in this land taken together it was the largest protest event in the history of our Republic.

I don't say this as a chant. It seems it literally was.

Now people at all the airports who are against the Muslim Ban. At so many airports here, and again around the world. I think we're recovering from the shock, and horror of that man's strange election.

Millions are moved to "Move".

However as I've read. This sort of power needs to be focused, and used. Otherwise it will be dismissed. Which is exactly what that man, and his administration, and his press allies have done.
It 'will' be dismissed, and forgotten.

If all it was a gesture, and everyone goes home feeling satisfied.

We can't stop we can't let the power that so many created just drift away as has happened so many times. The Machine counts on us to forget, and let it drift to nothing.

Oh to be a kid again.

Out in the streets as a teen against the Vietnam War, and later in my 20's in the streets again for Queer's right just to exist. We weren't fighting for marriage or any other convoluted middle class crap.

We were fighting for the right just to be Alive.

Do you remember? Do you get that?

The "Right" not to be beaten, and killed. It 'was' that basic back then.

The 'Right' to Live.

I think we all have to do that now. For all of us the whole sweaty deranged lot of us out there making art science wonders, and laughter.

We have a "Right to Life" too.

"Snow Story"

I used to like being with my dad when I was a kid when he drove in snow storms. He had this "fuck it" attitude about danger. Which as a boy I loved as much as I loved him. He'd say "I was in damned battle of the Bulge!" "Snow is not my enemy".

He'd then go into Army life in the segregated service.

How none of his buddies wanted to fight the Japs. However they 'all' wanted to "tear the throats "out of them "Nazi bastards". ...and did. They also wanted to do the same to the cracker non-coms that were always giving them shit. However they had to hold off on those throats.

So with that attitude drive carefully.

This reminds me of another story about my dad.

My father was that rare combination of toughness, and gentleness. He hated cruelty of any kind. For example when we still had our farm down South he saw a man beating a horse that couldn't pull an overloaded wagon.

This back in the late 1930's.

He beat the crap out of the guy then helped him up bought the horse, and took it back to our farm.

That was dad.
